Here we go. In a new avatar with a renewed spirit

  • On Financial Literacy Day, Jamuna Bank PLC proudly reflects on its journey since its inception on June 3, 2001, now completing 23 years with a robust financial standing in the banking sector. Currently extending enhanced customer service through 167 branches, 110 sub-branches, 350 ATMs, and 50 agent outlets, we remain committed to inclusivity by actively working to bring everyone, including marginalized groups, under the umbrella of financial inclusion.

In our pursuit of financial inclusion, we provide financial education and literacy initiatives for all, aiming to empower individuals to seize opportunities within the financial sector. Aligning with the national financial inclusion strategy, we are set to implement a comprehensive Financial Literacy Program in 2024, adhering to the guidelines issued by the Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank.

In the previous year, we successfully executed 25 Financial Literacy Programs, including 12 programs with school students across Dhaka, Cumilla, Nagaon, and Rangpur Districts, 10 programs catering to migrant workers at the Arrival and Departure lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, and 3 programs with a diverse audience, including farmers, women individuals/entrepreneurs, and cottage/micro-entrepreneurs/retailers in Dhaka and Kishoreganj Districts.

Notably, Jamuna Bank PLC efficiently served as the lead bank in managing the ‘School Banking Conference on Financial Literacy and Financial Services-2023’ in Gazipur District on September 23, 2023. The impact of our financial literacy programs is evident in the increased financial awareness among students and migrant workers, fostering a heightened inclination towards savings.

As we celebrate Financial Literacy Day, we are proud to contribute meaningfully to the financial well-being of our community and look forward to further empowering individuals through knowledge and awareness.
